National Institute of Design, India’s premier and first design institute has been declared ‘Institution of National Importance’ by the Act of Parliament, by virtue of the National Institute of Design Act. Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman, Hon’ble Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Ministry of Commerce & Industry and Hon’ble Minister of State for Finance and Corporate Affairs placed the NID Bill in the Parliament.
