Industrial Design
Industrial Designis an amalgamation of new concepts, processes and approaches in object-user design both physical and digital in the current and future modern context. The design projects thematically relate to the context of the local, social, cultural, environmental perspective which is the current mandate for a sustainable futures. The program gives the students an opportunity to explore a vast canvas of possibilities in new age domains bringing global technology concepts to satisfying local needs based on human centric research, design leading to potential tangible and intangible solutions.
Key Courses
In Industrial Design discipline, students are mentored how to create a product from an idea starting with a sketch to a physical prototype while defining tangible and intangible experiences of aesthetics and ergonomics, functions and value.
Representation Techniques
Quintessential studio skills required to present designer’s idea in front of stakeholders, in both traditional and digital mediums.
Form Studies
Studies of forms, be it natural or man-made and how forms intrinsically translates to functions and experiences like elegance or aesthetic pleasure.
Design Projects
Mini and Major classroom projects related to Everyday products of design, Lifestyle accessories, Packaging, Smart products, Design Futures and Service design
Physical and Digital
Modelling
An industry demanding skill which involves making ideas into physical reality. Digital modelling is essential in manufacturing and visualizations.
Universal Design
Human centric design for a future where design bridges the gaps between a diverse set of users, abled or differently-abled, privileged or under-privileged.
System Design
Design that deals with all the elements within a system so that it can fulfil specific requirements as a complete entity.
Students work
Students have understood various design theories and have implemented them in their on-going projects
