National Institute of Design Assam celebrated the timeless beauty and rich cultural heritage of India’s handlooms on National Handloom Day! The Textile & Apparel Design Department, NID Assam, invited students and staff to be a part of the vibrant celebration, featuring an exclusive Handloom Display and an exciting Runway Show. Students and staff participated enthusiastically in their favourite handloom and traditional attire, showcasing the diverse traditional drapes and exquisite handloom fabrics from across the country. The celebration highlighted the artistry, craftsmanship, and rich traditions woven into India’s handloom heritage, while honouring the skilled artisans who continue to preserve this invaluable cultural legacy.
