National Institute of Design Assam celebrated the 80th Independence Day on 15th August 2026 at the Open-Air Theatre (OAT), NID Assam. The programme commenced with the assembly at 07:00 hrs, followed by the rendition of the National Song, Vande Mataram, and the ceremonial flag hoisting by the Registrar, NID Assam. She addressed the gathering, highlighting the significance of Independence Day and the values of patriotism, unity and national responsibility. The programme continued with the National Anthem, followed by a group photograph and a plantation drive symbolising the collective commitment towards environmental sustainability. The celebration concluded with refreshments and a sense of pride, unity and shared responsibility towards the nation.
