The National Institute of Design Assam organized a special program to celebrate International Women’s Day, marking the occasion with a thoughtfully curated series of events. The program commenced with a brief introduction, followed by an inspiring address by the Director. A special speech on the 2026 theme, “Rights. Justice. Action – focusing on closing legal gaps and dismantling systemic discrimination,” was delivered by Dr. Dinamani Thakuria, Deputy Registrar, highlighting the importance of equality, empowerment, and collective responsibility.
The event also featured an engaging interactive session that encouraged active participation and meaningful discussions among attendees. This was followed by inspiring reflections from the aspiring and talented women of the Institute, who shared their perspectives and experiences, emphasizing awareness, resilience, and the vital role of women in every sphere of life.
As a gesture of appreciation, all the women participants were felicitated with gifts and chocolates in recognition of their valuable contributions and inspiring presence within the Institute community. The program concluded with a vote of thanks, followed by refreshments for all participants, making the celebration both memorable and meaningful.
