Who is eligible to attend the convocation?

Students who have:

  • Successfully completed their academic program
  • Cleared all academic requirements
  • No pending dues (library, hostel, etc.)

    are eligible to participate.

Yes. Students are generally allowed to invite a limited number of guests (usually 1–2). Guest passes are issued in advance and must be carried on the day of the ceremony.

Yes. Graduating students are required to wear the official convocation attire provided by the institute. Instructions regarding collection and return of gowns are shared beforehand.

Students are generally advised to wear:

  • Traditional attire under the gown

  • Traditional Indian attire (can be anything but off-white/cream color)

Yes, in most cases, degree certificates are distributed during the ceremony.
If a student cannot attend, they may:

  • Authorize someone to collect it (with proper documentation), or
  • Request postal dispatch as per institute guidelines.

Yes. The institute typically arranges professional photography and videography. Students can later access official photographs.

Students are usually required to report 2–3 hours before the ceremony for:

  • Registration
  • Gown distribution
  • Rehearsal
  • Exact reporting time is communicated in the official circular.

The ceremony is usually attended by:

  • Director of NID Jorhat
  • Chief Guest (Industry Leader / Design Expert / Ministers)
  • Faculty members
  • Graduating students and their families
